WEST LAFAYETTE — Indian Valley’s Dalton Burcher and Ridgewood’s Trey Stoffer earned spots in the district tournament with top four individual finishes in the Division II Sectional Golf Tournament at River Greens Golf Course.
Burcher and Stoffer posted 18-hole scores of 76 for the lowest rounds among players not on the four district-qualifying teams. They’ll be joined in the district by the Sandy Valley duo of Logan Leichtamer (77) and Keegan Offenberger (79).
Team-wise, the four moving on to the district are Coshocton, John Glenn, Cambridge and River View.
Coshocton emerged as the sectional champions with a score of 297 followed by John Glenn (306), Cambridge (330) and River View (339), which advanced via the fifth-man tie-breaker over Claymont (339).
Rounding out the team scores were Carrollton (349), Indian Valley (351), Ridgewood (360), Sandy Valley (363), West Muskingum (374), Minerva (385), Philo (417) and Union Local (502).
Coshocton had the day’s low scorer in Mason Waycaster (67) while Cambridge’s Ian Smith carded a 69.
Other scores for Indian Valley at the sectional were Mason Rummell (85), Austin Rummell (90), Grant Clum (100) and Nevin Zoller (100).
Other scores for Ridgewood were Cody Ramsey (88), Gauge Shaw (90), James Bebout (106) and Ryan Crawford (110).
NEXT: The top four teams and four individuals on non-qualifying teams advance to the D-II District Tournament on Monday, Oct. 1 at EagleSticks Golf Club in South Zanesville where one team and one individual will emerge for a spot in the state tournament.
