The construction (destruction) of your Newcomerstown Public Library’s parking lot continues. Thank you for your patience! Once everything is done, you will have safer parking and more parking slots. If you haven’t had a chance, take a look at the new landscaping too. Morgan’s Landscaping did a great job.

Your Library has several events going this November. Thursday, Nov. 15, marks the second annual Chili Cook Off. If you think your recipe has what it takes to wow the judges, sign up. Your crockpot of chili needs to be in before judging begins at 11:30 a.m. Public tasting runs from noon to 2 p.m or when the chili runs out. You are welcome to come in and challenge your taste buds.

Family Movie Night returns on Friday, Nov. 16. Can you guess this month’s film? A family of red-suited superheroes returns in an incredible animated adventure. As always, water and popcorn will be provided. The Annex opens at 6:15 p.m.

Your Library will be closed on Nov. 22-23-24 for Thanksgiving. Items you check out on Nov. 15-16-17 won’t be due back until Monday, Nov. 26. Be sure to stop in before the Library closes to stock up on books, DVDs, video games, video game systems, and magazines for the holiday weekend.

On the first day of winter, children will get to experience a small taste of how Christmas is celebrated around the world on Friday, Dec.21. Kids’ International Christmas will offer crafts, food, and more from countries like England, Mexico, and Japan. The fun runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the Main Library.
