The Nativity Scene
Baby Jesus lies sleeping in a manger,
Mary and Joseph are standing nearby.
The cattle, sheep, goats and donkeys are listening,
Ears ever tuned to the baby’s small cry.
Shepherds appear to worship the Christ Child,
Telling the story, a star guided their way.
An angel they said, had brought them the news,
Jesus was born, in a stable that day.
Our Savior was born and laid in a manger,
A baby so tiny, yet King of all Kings.
The stable, the star, the angels are present.
To the baby, Christ Jesus, our praises still ring.

As I think of the birth of Jesus so many years ago I wonder what can be said about Him that has not already been told. Maybe just tell it again?
Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem, and laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn. He grew up a carpenter’s son. At 30 years of age Jesus began the ministry His Father had sent Him to do. Three years later He died on a cross paying the sin debt for the world. Three days later He arose from the tomb, victorious over death, hell, and the grave. Without His sacrificial death there would be no redemption from sin, and no promise of eternal life. This all happened because of His great love for us. Because of that love Jesus is alive today, and still saving the souls of all who come to Him in repentance for forgiveness of sin. It’s not too late, even today, to call on Him, asking Him to wash you clean in the blood that was shed on Calvary.
It’s a wonderful blessing to know that tiny baby born in Bethlehem so many years ago, that same man Jesus, dying on a cross for me.
