GNADENHUTTEN -- The Indian Valley Local Board of Education is moving forward with a new superintendent in charge. The board of education officially approved Roger Bond, Port Washington Elementary School principal, as the district's superintendent at their regular meeting, June 22. Bond agreed to a three-year administrative contract effective Aug. 1 through July 31, 2012. His salary will be $86,000 for the first year. However, starting immediately, Bond will serve as interim superintendent and will be paid on a per-diem basis for all days worked in June and July, not to exceed 20 days. The board also accepted Bond's resignation as elementary school principal, effective Aug. 1. Bond takes over duties from interim superintendent Kevin Spears, superintendent of the Tuscarawas-Carroll-Harrison Educational Service Center. Spears served as interim superintendent while the district searched for a replacement for Randall Cadle, who will officially resign from the district on July 31. Comments
