Newcomerstown almost had a home triangular sweep Wednesday night as they defeated Beallsville and then lost a nail-biter to Shenandoah. In the third match, Shenandoah knocked off Beallsville, 42-6. The Trojans took down the Blue Devils 29-12 while the Zeps pulled out a 29-28 squeaker. In that contest, the match was deadlocked at 28-28 after the Trojan's Clayton McAfee (215) pinned Austin Harmon in 1:41. A tie-breaker rule known as Criteria H, which rewards the team with the most first points scored, gave the Zeps the victory. Coming up with two wins each on the night were Marcus Mardis (140), Brian Beckett (125) and Casey Dressler (103). Indian Valley falls to New Philadelphia GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley lost a tough match based on a tie-breaker that gave New Philadelphia a 34-33 win last Saturday. The match was tied when the Quaker's Desi Felgenhauer won the last match of the night. Criteria H gives the win to the team with the most first points scored, which favored New Philly. Cass Corpman (145), Dakota Sentz (189) and Darran Warner all had pins for the Braves. Anderson takes first place in invitational HEATH -- Ridgewood's Nathan Anderson came home with first place at the Heath Invitational last Saturday. The Generals finished seventh as a team. The 160 pound Anderson came through in the finals with a pin on Kevin Yeager of Pataskala Licking Heights. Jake Conrad (171) and Jake Ziegler each place second. Conrad fell 9-3 in his final to Brookhaven's Louis Ford while Ziegler was pinned by Heath's Ryan McDaniel Joe Holmes (285) and Mark Hale (215) both came in fifth, Jacob Bone (125) was sixth.
