Cadet Evan Ritchie, Senior at the US Military Academy at West Point, recieved his Officer Branch desigination last week. Evan, a 2006 graduate of Newcomerstown High School, will become an Artillery Officer upon graduation from West Point in May. Upon graduation, he will be ranked as a 2nd Lieutenant and proceed to Ft. Benning, GA in June for officer training, then Ft. Sill, OK after that for his Artillery training. Evan is the son of Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm, and Patty Ritchie of Newcomerstown. Malcolm is in Ft. Dix, NJ preparing for his third active duty tour in Iraq.
