LLOYD H. HART
A Mass of Christian burial for Lloyd H. Hart, 82, of Newcomerstown, was March 10, 2009, at the St. Francis Desales Church of Newcomerstown. Father William J. Faustner officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. A Christian Wake and Elks Lodge services were March 10 at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Military services were conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans' Honor Guard at the cemetery. He passed away March 6 at Union Hospital in Dover.
He was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Guernsey, the son of the late Howard and Alice (Booth) Hart.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran having served in the Occupational forces in Japan. He had been a self-employed excavator, employed at Brode's, Clow and General Tire. He retired in 1984.
Mr. Hart was a member of the St. Francis Desales Church of Newcomerstown, Elks Lodge No. 1555 of Newcomerstown (past exalted ruler), American Legion - Thomas C. Montgomery Post 431, Veterans Foreign Wars Post 3303 and Knights of Columbus of Newcomerstown.
On June 4, 1949, he married Catherine J. (Popyack) Hart, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael (Mary) Hart of Newcomerstown and Brent (Pam) Hart of Westerville; four grandchildren, Donna Bradford, Tommy Hart, Jennifer Hart and Allison Hart; four great-grandchildren, Toby, Katelin, Hunter and Gunner; and three brothers, Donald (Marge) Hart of Newcomerstown, Clifford (June) Hart of Newcomerstown and John (Kay) Hart of Coshocton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene, Roger, Tom and Jack Hart.
