BERNARD O. WATSON
Graveside funeral services for Bernard O. Watson, 93, of Newcomerstown, were April 13, 2009, at the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Rev. William E. Ramsey and Pastor Thomas Anderson officiated the services. The Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown was entrusted with arrangements. He passed away April 5, 2009, at Union Hospital in Dover.
He was born Aug. 12, 1915, in Elizabeth, W.Va., the son of the late Arzey and Margie Mae (Barker) Watson.
Mr. Watson was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He retired as a machinist at Heller Tool Co. in Newcomerstown after 40 years.
He was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church of Newcomerstown. He enjoyed raccoon and squirrel hunting, fishing, camping and any outdoor activity. His grandchildren were his life.
His wife, Virgie (Tanner) Watson, passed away in January 1981.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Watson; six brothers, Melvin, Owen, Jesse, Abe, Andrew and Bud Watson; and two sisters, Sylvia Stahl and Anna Mae Watson.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Sue (Terry) Watson of Newcomerstown; a daughter-in-law, Pat Watson of Newcomerstown; three grandchildren, David (Deb) Watson, Donald (Starla) Watson and Becky Watson; great-grandchildren, Desiree, Holly, Dusty, Sarah, Tiffany, Brady, Ella, Xander, Landon, Arron, Kayla, Matt, Alan, Justin and Joshua; step-grandchildren, Tanya, Renee, Tiffany, Marie, Amber and Sentel; two brothers, Denver Watson of Newcomerstown and Delford (Betty) Watson of Clarksburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Goldie Reed of Michigan, Velma Heres of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Maybelle of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
