Funeral services for Mildred J. Gipe, 63, of Newcomerstown, were Nov. 14, 2009, at the St. Francis DeSales Church of Newcomerstown. Father William J. Faustner officiated the services with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. The Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown was in charge of arrangements. She passed away Nov. 11 at Southeastern Med in Cambridge.

She was born May 26, 1946, in Cambridge, the daughter of William (Jane) Couts of Newcomerstown, and the late Dorothy (Eggleston) Myers.

She was a 1965 graduate of Newcomerstown High School.

Mrs. Gipe was an employee of General Electric Ohio Coil for 33 years.

She was a member of the St. Francis DeSales Church of Newcomerstown.

She married Harry Gipe, who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Denise (Bryant) Lehman of Newcomerstown and Melissa Gipe of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Courtney Hunt, Codey Hunt and Lydia Lehman; one great-granddaughter, Annalise; one brother, Roger Couts and companion Mary of Newcomerstown; five sisters, Gladys Johnson and companion Bryant, Shirley Kenney, Janet (Bud) Rawling, all of Newcomerstown, Cathy (Chuck) McIntire of Byesville and Bev (Ernie) Kahoun of Coshocton; and long-time friend, Connie Hopkins.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pam McMahon.
