William K. "Bud" Reedy, 73, Freeport (Guernsey County), formerly of Stark County, passed away late Thursday night (Jan. 28, 2010) in his Guernsey County residence.

William was born in Clay County, W.Va., on Jan. 11, 1937, and was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred B. Reedy and Dolly M. Dorsey Reedy Linberg. 

He attended Akron Kenmore High School. 

"Bud" was a self-employed home contractor and drywall layer in Stark County for many years for several companies before his retirement in 2002 and his move to Guernsey County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sporting events on television, especially his beloved Cincinnati Bengals.

In addition to his parents, "Bud" was preceded in death by a daughter, Jerroldine Wallace of Canton; three brothers, Duane Reedy of Akron, Gene Reedy of Maryland and Larry Reedy of California; and a sister, Ruth Nine of Coshocton.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fay Elizabeth Willard Reedy of the home, whom he married Nov. 7, 1958. 

"Bud" also leaves three sons and a daughter, Thomas B. (Michelle) Reedy of Massillon, Renn Reedy of Guernsey County, William K. (Tonya) Reedy Jr. of Ada and Jodi L. Reedy of Canton; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary (Patty) Sprague of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his sister, Shelia (Eli) Robinson of Santa Cruz, California; a son-in-law, Robert Wallace of Canton; a sister-in-law, Mary Reedy of Akron; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were Jan. 31 at the Ourant Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. A prayer service followed at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow at a later date. 

The family is requesting that memorials be made in William’s name to the Hospice of Guernsey County, Post Office Box 1165, Cambridge, OH 43725.
