JAMES A. WRIGHT1948-2010James Arthur Wright, 62, of Newcomerstown, passed away early Thursday morning, Dec. 2, 2010, at the Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newcomerstown, where he had been a resident for the past year.James was born near Stone Creek on Sept. 24, 1948, a son of the late Clyde W. Wright Sr. and the late Florence I. Welch Wright Smart.He was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School, Class of 1968. James was employed as a fork lift operator with Groovfold Manufacturing, Newcomerstown, for over 20 years before his retirement in 2001. He was a member of King's United Methodist Church, Oxford Township, where he served as an usher. James enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing.James is survived by his stepfather, Oscar Smart of New Philadelphia. He also leaves four brothers and three sisters, Clyde W. (Sandy) Wright Jr. of Newcomerstown, Willis P. (Brenda) Wright and Walter (Sandy Smart), all of New Philadelphia, Tom (Jean) Smart of Casper, Wyo., Irene M. Kyle of New Philadelphia, and Susan J. Burton and Sally J. (Tim) Franklin, all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; an uncle, Bill Welch; two aunts, Bertha (Glen) England and Mary Welch, all of Newcomerstown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services to celebrate James's life were Dec. 7, 2010, at the Ourant Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. The Rev. Chauncey Eggan conducted the services.Burial followed in the King's Church Cemetery, Oxford Township. The family requests that memorials be made in James's name to King's United Methodist Church, in care of Mr. Jerry Regula, 12345 Ash Road, Newcomerstown, OH 43832.
