Wilma J. Shaw, 97, of Newcomerstown, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, West Lafayette.

She was born Nov. 27, 1913, in Bakersville to the late Charles H. and Isabel (Davis) Lorenz.

She was a 1930 graduate of West Lafayette High School.

She retired from Simonds Industries in Newcomerstown in 1984 after 42 years. She was a member of the Isleta United Methodist Church.

On June 22, 1940, she married James B. Shaw, who died May 8, 1961.

Throughout her life, Wilma touched many lives with her sweet, caring spirit and in her service to others.

She was a special aunt to her surviving nieces and nephews, Alice (Larry) Loughead of Columbus, Arlene (Herman) Gandolfi of Peru, Ill., Ken (Linda) Fair of Cleveland and Stanley (Byrdie) Lorenz of Columbus and their families. Also surviving are Bud (Betty) Shaw of Mt. Vernon, Ken (Rhea) Shaw of Newcomerstown; and many other cousins and numerous friends who cherish fond memories of her.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond B. Lorenz and Clifford Lorenz; and two sisters, Florence Bowers and Tessie Fair.

Services were April 22, 2011, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Revs. James Lee and Dale Thomas officiating. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
