Millie Florence Dawson, 86, a resident of the Schoenbrunn Health Care Center, New Philadelphia, for several years, formerly of Cleveland, passed away in the Schoenbrunn Health Care facility on Friday, June 3, 2011.

Millie was born in Wesley, W.Va., on Oct. 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Kerry Knight. She was employed as a machine operator with the Freeway Corporation, a home appliances company, Cleveland, for many years. Millie enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising flowers, and bowling in the Cleveland leagues for many years.

Millie was preceded in death by husband, James Everett Dawson, Cleveland. Also deceased are four brothers.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas D. (Margaret "Marge") Knight of Newcomerstown (Peoli), and Richard Eugene Knight of Cleveland; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon Knight of Tacoma, Wash.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Dawson of Cleveland.

Graveside services and burial took place Wednesday, June 8 in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. The Rev. Donald Silverthorne conducted the services.
