Leah Beitzel, 85, of Newcomerstown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at her residence.

She was born July 25, 1926, in Westmoreland County, Pa., to the late James Earley and Alice (Baird) Earley.

She was a wife and homemaker and also an office manager at Newcomerstown Senior Center.

She was a member of Isleta United Methodist Church and former member of Newcomerstown Lioness Club and Newcomerstown Welcome Wagon.

She enjoyed reading, listening to country music, and playing cards.

On July 2, 1946, she married Sherman Beitzel, who passed away Nov. 25, 1985.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Ruthann) Beitzel of Newcomerstown and Richard (Goldie) Beitzel of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Jacque (Scott) McPherson, Matthew (Julie) Beitzel, Jennifer (Scott) Johns, Jackie Deddens, Becky Harrison, and Shirley (Jim) Sells; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ada Warrick of Scottdale, Pa.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James C. Earley; and one sister, Virginia Walters.

Services were Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Dale Thomas officiating.

Burial was in the Coshocton County Memory Gardens. There was no visitation.
