SENECAVILLE Marjorie Ruth Laughlin, 89, of Chaseville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at her home.
She was born June 4, 1922, in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Archie N. and Mary Marie (Crossley) Campbell of Coshocton.
Marjorie retired in 1986 from the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Nursing Education Department after 15 years of service. She had formerly worked at Coshocton Memorial Hospital and the University Hospital in Cleveland.
She was a 1940 graduate of Coshocton High School, a 1945 graduate of Coshocton School of Nursing, and attended Ohio University and Case Western Reserve University.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion, both of Coshocton. Her hobbies included Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and for 10 years she was a Water Safety Swimming Instructor (WSI) for the American Red Cross in Coshocton.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ken Laughlin, whom she married June 25, 1950; two daughters, Nitia (Ron) Bettinger of Columbus and Karen (Ben) Williams of Alpharetta, Ga.; two sons, William James Laughlin of Chaseville and Stephen W. Laughlin of Monroe, Mich.; two granddaughters, Caitlin (Jonathon) Odess of Roswell, Ga., and Jennifer Lynn Williams of Alpharetta, Ga.; two sister-in-laws, Geneva Thompson of Chaseville and Betty Murphy of Carrollton; special companion, her cat Snowshoe; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services were Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, in the Senecaville Cemetery with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating.
The Black-Epperson Funeral Home in Senecaville was in charge of arrangements.
