Larry L. Elliott, 64 of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Union Hospital, Dover.
He was born Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1947, in Newcomerstown, to the late Wilma (Elliott) Boyd.
He attended Newcomerstown High School and Auto-Mechanic school in California.
He worked for many years at Clow Corp. and Oxford Mining before retiring as a Operations Manager at Republic Services in East Sparta in August 2010 after 20 years.
Larry enjoyed restoring and showing classic cars (Chevrolets) winning multiple awards over the years. He loved traveling in Tennessee, mainly the Gatlinburg area and watching NASCAR races. But his main passion the last year was watching Landon play football for Ridgewood High School, watching Logan clean his car, teasing Nathan about his Camaro and spending time with his family.
On Saturday, May 10, 1997, he married Nancy (Johnson) Elliott, who survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Angie (Roger) Smith of West Lafayette; one son, Scott (Beth) Elliott of Tuscarawas; stepchildren, Connie (Matt) Dolvin of New Philadelphia, Joan (Dave) McLaughlin of New Philadelphia, Paul (Jennifer) Anderson of Stone Creek; grandchildren, Logan, Landon and Kaden Smith, Gavin and Aubrey Elliott; step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Eric lorenz, Nathan Dolvin, Paul and Amber Anderson, Michael (Bethany) Smith; two sisters, Diane (Arthur) Williams of Akron, Doris (Larry) Martucci of Uniontown; one brother, Fred (Barb) Boyd of Newcomerstown; one aunt, Wilma Elliott of Coshocton; several cousins; puppies, Hattie and Lexie; and kitty, Bailey.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Elliott; one uncle; one aunt; and his beloved grandmother, Laura Richardson.
Services were Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Harry Milligan officiating.
Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
Military graveside services were conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
