Donald A. Rose, 74 of Newcomerstown, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville.
He was born Saturday, Feb. 13, 1937, in Kimbolton, to the late Marjorie (Rose) Stone.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War from May 1954 until November 1957.
He retired from Simonds Industries in Newcomerstown as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the American Legion-Thomas C. Montgomery Post 431 of Newcomerstown, Port Washington F&AM 202 of Gnadenhutten, Scottish Rite of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine Temple of Columbus and Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his longtime love, caretaker and companion, Monica Miller Butler; two daughters, Brenda Lee Watson of Cambridge and Donna Jean Rose of Hartville; two sons, Richard Rick (Cindy) Rose, Donald Wade (Raeann) Rose, all of Newcomerstown; six grandchildren, Gennifer Kellett, Jeremy (Suzanna) Watson, Whitney and Eric Allen Rose, Kristen and John Rose; four great grandchildren, Austin, Jordyn, Scott and Jedediah; two brothers, Wayne (Marie) Mathews of Cambridge and Roger (Marsha) Stone of Newcomerstown.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Masonic Lodge services will take place that night at 6:45 p.m.
Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Kimbolton Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
