Jack E. Cunningham, 84, of Newcomerstown, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Wirt County, W.Va., to the late Felix T. Cunningham and Ethel (Belt) Cunningham.
He was a World War II Army veteran and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He retired from Alsco Anaconda after 30 years of which 15 of those he was a supervisor. After retirement, he was a Wheeling Township employee.
He loved the Cleveland Indians, and playing his guitar and singing.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie J. (Secrest) Cunningham, whom he married April 1, 1961.
He is also survived by one son, Jack E. (Rita) Cunningham Jr. of Newcomerstown; three daughters, Evelyn Cunningham of Evansville, Ind., Lori Webber of Newcomerstown, and Melissa (Randy) Miller of Stone Creek; four grandchildren, Erin Webber, Shane Miller, Cody Cunningham, and Sara Miller; five sisters, Midge Lewis, Eileen Hall, and Peggy Greathouse, all of Newcomerstown, June (Kenny) Gardner of Guernsey, and Rosalee Hardesty of Newcomerstown.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sylvia Ann Cunningham; four brothers, Willard Cunningham, Alfred
Cunningham, Wayne Belt and Johnny Franklin Barker.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating.
