OKEECHOBEE, Fla. -- Evelyn P. Hutchinson, 89, passed away at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

She was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Hamlin, W.Va.

Evelyn was a member of the Presbyterian faith, a past-president of Kurz-Kasch Union, and a member of Moose Lodge 1337 and its' bowling team in Newcomerstown, Ohio.

She relocated to Okeechobee six years ago.

She enjoyed reading and gardening.

Her family, friends and dogs were a special part of her life. She was a good neighbor and caretaker.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John McClellen Crosswhite; parents, William Henry and Mary Ellen Gilmore; brothers, James Gilmore, Harry Redden, Larry Redden, Lucien Redden and William Redden; and granddaughter, Missy Crosswhite.

She is survived by sons, Robert E. Crosswhite and Gary I. Crosswhite, both of Okeechobee, Fla., Thomas W. (Barbara) Crosswhite of Park City, Utah, and John M. (Maggie) Crosswhite of Newcomerstown, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services were Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Charleston, W.Va.
