FREEPORT -- Xerxa Murlene Fair, 79, of Freeport, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, in Beacon Pointe Rehab Center, Uhrichsville.
She was born April 7, 1933, in Londonderry Township, a daughter of the late Marion Dewey Baumgardner and Lora Opal Hardy Baumgardner.
She attended Freeport High School and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Tippecanoe. Murlene was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband, Robert Vernon Fair, passed away Oct. 10, 2009. They were married Oct. 28, 1952.
Also surviving are four daughters, Darlene (Darrell) Dakin of Honduras, Central America, Sylvia Thomas of Uhrichsville, Sue (Mark) Harper of Adrian, Ga., and Bonnie (Jim) Baker of Uhrichsville; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Fair of Freeport; two brothers: John Edison Baumgardner and Gene Edward Baumgardner; three sisters: Magratha Mae (Frank) Shearer, Glenadine (Dean) Greenwalt, and Dora Adeline (Wilbert) Lippencott; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, James Harrison Fair in 1979, Robert Bruce Fair in 2010, and Scotty Vernon Fair in 2011; and two brothers, Earl Raymond Baumgardner and William Joseph Baumgardner.
Services were Thursday, April 19, 2012, in the Koch Funeral Home, Freeport, with Pastor Jim McConnell officiating.
Burial followed in Guernsey County Memory Gardens in Cambridge.
The Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High St., Freeport was in charge of arrangements.
