Marilyn Fenton, 83, of Newcomerstown, a 17-year cancer survivor, passed into a better world Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Union Hospital, Dover.
She was born Monday, March 4, 1929, on a farm near Sugarcreek, to the late Robert G. and Edith (Aeling) Rausch,
She was a graduate of Sugarcreek-Shanesville High School.
She was formerly employed at IBM department of Shaw-Barton of Coshocton, General Electric of Coshocton, the former Thompson's IGA, Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and was a sales representative for Stevenson's Memorials, all of Newcomerstown.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Newcomerstown for 50 years, and was active with the Lydia-Ruth Group and was a 60 year member of the Buckhorn Grange.
She enjoyed crocheting and quilting, gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
On July 23, 1955, she married C. Dean Courtright, who died Sept. 2, 1955.
On March 2, 1962, she married Donald Fenton, who survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Kevin (Erma) Fenton of Newcomerstown, Mark (Kathy) Fenton of Wilmington, Gary (Heather) Fenton of Newcomerstown; grandchildren, Sally and Jason Arnold, Ben and Kari Fenton, Zarek, Chelsea and Caleb Fenton; great-grandchildren, Lyrissa Porter, Chase, Kolton, and Kylia Arnold; one brother, Thurman (Jean) Rausch of West Lafayette; and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Smith of Coshocton and Doris Stonebrook of New Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Toni Arnold; and one sister and her husband, Thelma and Walter Immel.
Services were Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Peter Shults officiating. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery.
