Lola Marie DeLong, 83, of Newcomerstown, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newcomerstown.
She was born Thursday, June 28, 1928, in Coshocton County, to the late Guy Harry and Jeanetta Ruth "Mirise" Norman.
She was 1947 Newcomerstown High school graduate.
She was a housewife. She enjoyed bowling and at one time held the high score for a game and series at Emerald Lanes.
She loved playing bingo, gardening and her family.
On Friday, Oct. 31, 1947, she married Henry Jackson "Jack" DeLong, who died Jan. 13, 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Throckmorton of Newcomerstown and Betsy (Terry) Wise of West Lafayette; one son, Dennis James (Molly) DeLong of Galena; six grandchildren, Melissa Quillin, Candace Quillin, Courtney King, Darci Belville, Abby Irvine and Ty DeLong; eight great-grandchildren, Brice Shearer, Austin King, Reed Skinner, Brax Belville, Brody Belville, Everleigh Belville, Trevi Irvine and Joah Irvine; one great-great grandchild, Kielynn Shearer; two brothers, Roy (Marlyni) Norman and John (Bonnie) Norman, all of Newcomerstown; and one sister, Bonnie (Max) Hinton of Wooster.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Adrian King; five brothers, Charles, Gerald, Wilburn, Donnie and Willard Norman; and two sisters, Madeline Waller and Eloise Kees.
Services were Monday, April 23, 2012, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Derek Hickman officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
