George Robert Denham, 82 of Bucyrus, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Bucyrus Commuity Hospital.

He was born Friday, June 13, 1930, in Coshocton to the late Robert S. and Florence (Folkert) Denham.

He was a 1948 graduate of Newcomerstown High School and also attended The Ohio State University.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran serving from May 18, 1951, until April 24, 1953. He retired from the Kroger Co. after 40 years as a meat cutter.

He was a member of the Service Station bowling league in Bucyrus, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

On Sunday, March 7, 1954, he married Dorcus Y. (Dawson) Denham, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Robert A. Denham and his wife Kathy of Bucyrus; two granddaughters, Heather A. (Michael) Desguin and Christina D. (Isaac) Engelhorn; one great-granddaughter, Lily Engelhorn.

He was preceded in death by one son, Matthew D. Denham.

Services were Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Donald Silverthorne officiating.

Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Graveside military honors were conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
