Janet E. Howard, 72, of Newcomerstown, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at Aultman Hospital Canton.

She was born Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1940, in Newcomerstown, to the late Ronald A. Baker and Mary F. (Catlett) Baker of Newcomerstown.

She was a 1958 graduate of Newcomerstown High School.

She had previously worked at NCR in Cambridge and 31 Inc. of Newcomerstown. She was a person with a strong faith in God, and fought a courageous battle against cancer. She was a big NASCAR fan, her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr., she enjoyed going to car shows and the Cleveland Browns.

On Sunday, July 30, 1972, she married Raymond C. Howard, who died Nov. 13, 1973.

She is survived by one daughter, Stacy L. Howard and her companion Barry D. Long of Newcomerstown; three brothers, James (Bekcy) Baker, Don (Judy) Baker, and Paul Robert (Marilyn) Baker, all of Newcomerstown; two sisters, Sandra (Reno) Ingram of Newcomerstown and Brenda (Bill) Burns of West Lafayette; and her beloved pets, two cats, Baby and Houdini and two horses, Harley and Zeppelin.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Ruth Baker.

Services were Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor Nelson Miller officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
