R. Maxine Sharrock, 94, of West Lafayette, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, West Lafayette.
She was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Coshocton County, to the late Nellie (Wheatcraft) Santangelo and Glenn E. Williams.
She attended the old Miller grade school and Keene High School.
She was previously employed for 25 years at Hay's Jeweler in Coshocton. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 2040 and Ladies Moose Lodge of Coshocton. She also enjoyed planting flowers and having a garden each year and canning the many vegetables they raised.
On July 16, 1966, she married Bernard G. Sharrock, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Richard "Dick" (Mary) March of Hinckley; one daughter, Roxanne (Carson) Slaughter of Coshocton; and son-in-law, Vernon Kees of Newcomerstown; a stepdaughter, Jeannie (Jim) Baker of Newcomerstown; a stepson, Rick Sharrock of West Mifflin, Pa.; a stepsister, Florence Keltz of Wooster; a stepbrother, Fred Santangelo of California; and three nephews. She was a "special grandma" to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dona Kees in 1997; sister- and brother-in-law, Joyce and Everett McNabb; brother, Jack Williams; an infant grandson; two stepbrother;s and a stepsister.
Services were Thursday, March 21, 2013, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Donald Silverthorne officiating.
Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
