Billy R. "William" Lehman, 85, of Newcomerstown, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Union Hospital.

He was a loving, faith driven, devoted Christian. He was a loving husband of 61 years, the best dad in the world, and the most loving, kind and generous grandpa anyone could ever have.

Billy was born June 10, 1928, in Newcomerstown, to the late Carl and Lenice (Strode) Lehman.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He retired from Alsco Aluminum in Gnadenhutten.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Newcomerstown.

On Dec. 31, 1952, he married Helen C. (Mardis) Lehman, who survives.

Also surviving are his four children, William R. (Ruth Ann) Lehman, Carl M. (Jodie) Lehman, Shirley M. (Johnnie) Kirk, all of Newcomerstown, and David J. (Cindy) Lehman of North Salem; 13 grandchildren, Dave (Laura), Joey, Jessica (Joshua), Jennifer (Lewie), Dustin (Anne), Joshua (Kandace), Jacob (Catherine), Jordan (Erica), Samantha, Cassaundra, Travis, Alexis, and Emma; 15 great-grandchildren; and two on the way; two brothers, Jim (Carolyn) Lehman and Fred (Linda) Lehman, all of Newcomerstown.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Lehman; and three brothers, Dayne, Wayne and Joey Lehman.

Services were Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with the Rev. Eric Miller officiating. Burial followed in West Lawn Cemetery.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard.
