William "Bill" Everett McKibben, 93, of Newcomerstown died Friday, February 17, 2017, at Community Hospice House. He was born July 7, 1923, to the late J. Allen and Melva (Luyster) McKibben. He graduated from Freeport High School. He served in the Army Air Core during World War II in the China Burma India Theatre (CBI). On July 7, 1943, he married Marguerita L. (Stewart) McKibben and they shared 72 years of marriage before her passing in November 2015. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy as a milkman for several years. He retired from General Tire in Newcomerstown in 1987. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown. He was a member of the Swinging Square Dance Club and enjoyed traveling after he retired. He also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Old Westerns and his Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by his children, Michael J. (Joann) McKibben of Newcomerstown, William B. (Cindy) McKibben of Madison, Ohio, Julie L. McKibben of Newcomerstown; a special granddaughter Sara (Nate) Stein, as well as nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean (Shirley) McKibben of Keyport, Washington. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 20, at 2 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Marlatt officiating. The burial followed at West Lawn Cemetery. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Monday, February 20, from 1-2 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home.
