Louise (Curtiss) Laughlin

1927-2017

BEREA -- Louise (Curtiss) Laughlin, 90, of Berea, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2017. Her loving husband of 60 years, Robert B. Laughlin, preceded her in death.

She was born on May 18, 1927 to the late Roy and Irma Curtiss. Her brother, Wallace and his wife, Evelyn Curtiss are also deceased. Louise was a cheerleader at Newcomerstown High School, graduating in 1945. After attending Bowling Green for fashion design, she worked at The Union in Columbus, and later the Surrey in Berea. In 1951 she married her high school sweeheart, Bob, and they loved to go dancing every Saturday night before raising their family. She is survived by her children: Pam (John) Antczak, DeeDee (Dave) Murnan, and Curt (Jean) Laughlin; dear grandmother of Johnny (Stacey) Antczak, Jason (Carrie) Antczak, Jessica (Bill) Boone, Jillian (Sean) Jelinek, Curtiss (Heather) Laughlin, Carrie (John) Ball, Christopher (Meagan) Laughlin. Louise was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren ranging in age 3 months to 16 years old.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Berea and the Christ United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown. Known for her passion of gardening, she loved to share her beautiful blossoms and perennials with neighbors. Her true love is her family, especially her "grands and great-grands." Her sweet spirit and kind words, whether written or spoken touched so many people throughout her lifetime. Now her spirit is free to dance again, watch over her loved ones from above and bless us all.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Aug. 12 at the United Methodist Church, 170 Seminary St., Berea.
