Norma Jean Barker, 81, of Newcomerstown passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehab. Center. She was born July 19, 1935, in Tuscarawas Co. to the late Floyd and Ella (Stein) McCormick. She was a homemaker and a member of the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene. On December 10, 1950, she married Ralph J. Barker who survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Faye Bryant and companion, Tom Emery of Newcomerstown; two sons, Randy (Joyce) Barker of New Philadelphia, and David (Patty) Barker of Newcomerstown; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia Burrier of Newcomerstown; one brother, Floyd McCormick of Stone Creek; step-sisters, Mary Hunt and Joann Hannahs both of Newcomerstown; a step-brother, Jim Cutshall of Newcomerstown. She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald, John, and Raymond McCormick; a sister, Pauline Burrier; and her step-mother, Lucille McCormick. Services will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Gerald Gray and Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Bakersville Cemetery.
