Richard A. Watson, 75, of Newcomerstown, died Thursday (June 15, 2017) at Mercy Medical Center of Canton.

He was born Monday, September 15, 1941, to the late Chester and Bernice (Infield) Watson. He was a 1959 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. He was the former owner of Emerald Lanes Bowling Alley in Newcomerstown and was also a meat cutter at Thompson's IGA in Newcomerstown and at Wal-Mart in New Philadelphia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Berry) Watson, who he married on October 7, 1961.

He is survived by his children, Julie Kehl and her husband Mike of Newcomerstown, Terry Watson of Akron; companion June Moffett of Newcomerstown; grandchildren, Dustin Watson and his wife Megan, Kandace Lehman and her husband Josh, Mitchell Kehl and his wife Ashley, and Matthew Watson and his fianc Ashlee; great-grandchildren, Kalista, Zaiden, Presley, Karley, William and a soon to be great-grand baby Kehl; brothers, Donald and his wife Jean, and Bob and his wife Diane; a brother-in-law Donald Berry and his long-time friends, Leman and Penny Clark.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown. A Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cy Young Lanes in Newcomerstown. Private graveside services will be at a later date.
