BYESVILLE — Nellie V. (Dyer) Phillips, 75, of Byesville passed away Wednesday (September 6, 2017) at her home.

She was born Jan. 18, 1942 in Byesville and was the daughter of the late Charles O. and Elva A. (Potts) Dyer.

Nellie retired from the Guernsey County Senior Center and had previously worked at NCR and RCA. She was a member of Byesville Assembly of God, and a 1959 graduate of Byesville High School. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, spending time with her husband and friends from church and lunches with former classmates.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband E. Raymond Phillips.

She is survived by her husband, Glen A. Phillips, whom she married March 2, 2007; one son, Earl "J.R." Phillips of Parkersburg, WV; one step-son, John Phillips of Cambridge; two daughters, Louise Schweikert of Reedsville, NC and Dianne Christian of Cambridge; two step-daughters, Marcia (Tom) Rose of Kimbolton and Melissa (Danny) Miser of Cumberland; three brothers, Jim (Rebecca) Dyer of Byesville, Jerry (Audrey) Dyer of Byesville and Gene (Susan) Dyer of Walhonding; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Kayla, Nevin, Courtney, Levi, Darryl, Derrek, Skyler; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours were Saturday, Sept. 11, with services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joe Summers officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
