Ruth Ann (Bowman) Tipton Rine, 81, of Newcomerstown, died Saturday (February 10, 2018) at her home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1936 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Fred Bowman and Ida Pearl (Stewart) Bowman.
Mrs. Rine was a Deputy County Auditor of Guernsey County. She had also worked at NCR and Hamilton Beach, and was a homemaker.
She was an avid glass collector and loved antiquing. She was a flea market and swap meet enthusiast, and enjoyed attending those events with her husband, Charlie.
She was Methodist by faith.
Mrs. Rine was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a poll worker in Guernsey County for many years. She was a member of the Wives of County Assessors Association, the Newcomerstown Welcome Wagon Club, and the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Edward Tipton; her second husband, Charles Rine; three brothers, Robert "Bob" Bowman, Harry Bowman, and Max Bowman; a sister, Nora Lee Bowman Kennedy; a daughter, Cindy Annette Tipton; and a son, Lewis Edward Tipton II.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie Tipton Andry of Naples FL; a brother, Samuel (Jan) Bowman of Canton; a sister, Donna Lou (Paul) Ickes of Florida; four grandchildren, Krisa Baird Clark, Lacey Tipton Betts, Barbara Firman, and Lewis Edward Tipton III; thirteen great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kris Tipton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Shirley Patterson and Sarah Ashcraft.
Visitation was February 14 at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville, where funeral services followed at 1 p.m.
Burial was at Senecaville Cemetery.
