Many thanks for Mayor's Relay For Life Cancer Survivor Social

Editor:

I would like to take this time to thank everyone who donated food for the 2010 Mayor's Relay For Life Cancer Survivor Social.

Everything seemed to go well. I couldn't have accomplished such a mission without the help of wonderful people. We have an awesome body of people working on Relay For Life. I have received many notes, cards and phone calls from many of the survivors who attended the social. It is a very rewarding feeling to hear from them and see them enjoy a night out. I don't think we all know how grateful the survivors really are. The smiles on their faces are worth all of the hard work and planning. They not only enjoyed the food and decorations but really appreciated the singers I don't know about the rest of you but the hair stood up on my arms. The three ladies that sang have a true gift. If any of you missed it, little Miss Hope Glazer was the star of the evening. What a wonderful child. This is what makes it all worth it. That precious little girl with a big heart and a big smile and she loves to sing. The women in the kitchen were a God sent to me. I am used to taking everything home and washing everything for several days. And of course the women serving were a tremendous help. It seemed to help the line move a little smoother and a little quicker. Thanks to those who finished decorating and who took care of the door and all the paperwork. It really does take many bodies to do things successfully. Again, thank you for everything. God Bless, Melba Guy
