Joumey's End clarifies what they accept

Editor:

Journey's End has been experiencing an enormous quantity of items being left at our door which are not useful to our ministry and are proving difficult to get removed so I need to clarify what we do and do not take.

First and foremost, we are a clothes closet: We give away clean, gently used, current fashion clothing. If you have items that have been in storage and are old, dated, smelly and or mildewed, we do not want them. Throw them away at your home. If you smoke in your home and do not wash the clothes before giving them to us we do not want them. Throw them away at your home. If it is not clothing you would put on your child or yourself we do not want them. Throw them away at your home.

Other things we take include: Miscellaneous items for the home, decorative items, seasonal items, complete toys and games, handbags, luggage, shoes, home care needs, clean bedding and blankets, children's books, Christian books and other small useful items. If you have been storing these items in a garage, basement or porch and they are smelly or dirty, please wash before bringing them in, or throw them out at your home.

WE DO NOT take any furniture, mattresses, tables, chairs, appliances, televisions, computers, couches. We also do not want any books besides the ones mentioned above. Take them to the library or throw them away at your home.

If you have an item to donate, that we do not take, you can call us and we can put it on our board of available items, where the clients can contact you to pick up the item. DO NOT BRING ANY FURNITURE TO JOURNEY'S END. We have no space for any large items so please do not drop off an item that we can not use.

We thrive on donations that are clean and useful and are very, very grateful for the wonderful selection we are able to give away to the needy. Please continue to support us with the items we need and may God continue to bless our ministry and our community.
