Journey's End Ministries needs your support

Editor:

Since 1996, Journey's End Ministries has been serving the people of the Newcomerstown, West Lafayette, Port Washington, Fresno, Bakersville and Kimbolton areas.

We want to thank you for helping to make that possible. Through your faithful contributions during this first nine months of this year, you have enabled us to provide food to over 10,884 households (over 35,175 individuals). In addition, we were able to give over 151,608 units of clothing, bedding, diapers and miscellaneous household items. Our monthly meals have fed over 300 people. It takes many dedicated volunteers, churches, businesses, industries, schools, and civic and social organizations to enable us to fulfill our mission of providing food, clothing and ministry support to those in need in our community. This year, we already have 12,861 hours with 70 volunteers. Together, we are, "People reaching out to people."

Journey's End relies on the contributions from our community to pay for the daily operation of the center. Monthly pledges are welcome and appreciated to help with our budgeting. Our annual budget for 2010 for the general fund is $41,400. Director's fee, food delivery costs, utilities, maintenance and supplies for the center are all paid from the general fund. The food budget this year was $36,000. All donations designated for food for the pantry are used 100 percent to purchase food and not for the general operation of the center.

There are important ways you can help during the coming year. First, we need your continued prayers for God's bounty and provision of a multitude of compassionate hearts and willing hands to volunteer their time at the center. Second, we need your contributions of cash, we are currently buying food at $.06 a pound (so we really stretch your dollars), non-perishable food items, diapers and clothing.

We turn to you once each year for your financial support to Journey's End Ministries' operating budget. All contributions are tax deductible. Someone from our staff would be able to present a program on our services to your social, civic, church or community group upon request.

If you have any questions, please call us at 498-5772.
