I hope you read Numbers 21:4-9, where the people sinned by complaining and God sent serpents as punishment. The people were bitten, and many died. Moses was told to make a brass serpent and put it on a pole. If the people would look up at the brass serpent, they would live.
Jesus uses this in the book of John 12:32 and says, "If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me." This he said, signifying what death He should die, verse 33.
The cross of Christ, that horrible death which Jesus suffered and endured that we might have salvation through His blood, is the drawing power to bring people to Him. If that doesn't move you to want to obey and follow Him, nothing else will!
That is why faithful Christians will partake of the Lord's Supper every first day of the week, Acts 20:7. To use food, fun, and entertainment to draw people to Christ is to demean or degrade what Jesus has done for us.
Now for the "bread of life" which Jesus said we should work for and that He would give us, John 6:27. Our Father gives us the true bread from heaven, verse 32. Please read all the verses up to 60, where Jesus' disciples say, "this is a hard saying, who can hear it?" Verse 56 says, "He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him."
