WARSAW -- The Ridgewood girls came in third place while the boys took fifth at the River View Invitational on Wednesday.

In the girl's division, West Holmes was the winner with 110 points, followed by River View (105), Ridgewood (95.5), Tri-Valley (90), Coshocton (68.5), Buckeye Trail (47), and Hiland (10).

For the Lady Generals, Savannah Warne won the high jump with 4-11.

In the boy's division, River View won for the fourth straight year with 121 points, followed by Tri-Valley (99), Coshocton (74), West Holmes (72), Ridgewood (67), Buckeye Trail (60), and Hiland (34).

For the Generals, Zach Queen won the shot with a throw of 52-6.

Nc'town boys win triangular

The Newcomerstown boys won a triangular at Lee Stadium on Tuesday against Strasburg and Conotton Valley as they racked up 114 points. The Tigers were second with 55 points while the Rockets did not score.

Mitch Osso and Caleb Rankin each had three wins for the Trojans. Osso took the 100 in 11.9 and was on the 400 relay (47.6) and 800 relay (1:40) teams. Rankin won long jump with a leap of 18-8 and was also on the 400 and 800 relay teams. Chase Addy and Chris Stockum were also on the 400 relay team while the 800 team included Clint Foraker and Stockum. Zac Dressler was a double winner for the Trojans in the 110 hurdles (18.8) and 300 hurdles (46.8) as was Matt Ayres in the shot put (41-6) and discus (120-5), and Serafin Sanchez in the 800 (2:13) and 1600 (5:06). Addy's double win included the 440 relay and the pole vault (14-0). Other winners included J.P. Snyder in the high jump (5-6) and Zach Jones in the 3200 (11:53).

In the girl's division, the Lady Trojans scored 78 points but were edged by the Tigers who finished with 80. The Rockets came in third with four points.

Lexy Long paced Newcomerstown with three victories, as she blazed the 100 in 13.8, the 200 in 29.6, and was on the 400 relay team (56.1) which included Morgan McAfee, Ashley Shugars and Rachael Tidrick. Kayla Hinds was a double winner in the shot put (28-7) and discus (100-4). Also victorious for the Lady Trojans were Rebecca Patterson in the high jump (4-4), Kelsey Dean in the 300 hurdles (57.1), and Erica Roberts in the pole vault (8-0).

Indian Valley sweeps triangular

GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley swept a triangular on Wednesday with Tusky Valley and Cambridge.

The boy's team scored 66 points to barely edge Tusky Valley, who had 65. Cambridge scored 44.

Sean Jones paced the Braves with wins in the 1600, 800, and 400.

In the girl's division, the Lady Braves scored 86 points to easily outdistance the Bobcats (47) and Trojans (42).

Kayla Caldwell led Indian Valley with four wins, including the 100, 200, 300 hurdles, and pole vault.

Ridgewood boys win triangular

SUGARCREEK -- The Ridgewood boys won a triangular with Garaway and Malvern on Tuesday while the Lady Generals came in second in their match-up.

The Generals scored 91 points while the Pirates were second with 76. The Hornets could only score seven.

Coming in with wins for Ridgewood were Zach Queen (shot put), Derek Lahna and Jared Kreitzer (tie - high jump), Austin Bates (110 hurdles), Luke Feldner (1600), Jake Conrad (800), and Josh Saylor (3200).

For the girls, the Lady Generals scored 76 points, second to the Pirate's 84 but ahead of the Hornet's 15.

Individual victories for Ridgewood included Courtney Babcock (high jump), Loren Foster (100), Taylor Davis (400), and Kelsey Hayes (300 hurdles).

Invitational canceled

ZOAR -- The Thrilla in Zoarvilla Invitational at Tusky Valley High School on Friday was canceled due to the thunderstorms that rolled through about halfway through the meet. Newcomerstown, Ridgewood, and Indian Valley were all participating. The event will not be completed.
