WEST LAFAYETTE -- In a marathon pitching duel on Wednesday, Allysa Lancaster and Sandy Valley outlasted Haley Kolmerten and Ridgewood through 16 innings for a 1-0 win on the General's home turf.

The Cardinals (11-4, 5-2 IVC) finally broke the ice in the top of the 16th with an RBI bunt single by Kelli Mohr.

Both hurlers pitched complete games. Kolmerten struck out 16, walked four, and gave up 13 hits while Lancaster struck out 19, walked one, and surrendered five hits.

Ridgewood is now 11-6 overall and 6-4 in league play.

GNADENHUTTEN -- The Falcons came up with a 9-5 win over the Braves in Principals Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.

Fairless was leading 8-1 when Indian Valley (4-12, 4-5 PAC) put up a mild rally in the sixth inning with four runs but could close no further. Morgan Miles took the loss for the Braves, who were led on offense by Tana Gibbs' double and two singles.

Brittany Larch, who got 10 strikeouts, picked up the mound win for Fairless (12-4, 5-1 PAC).

The Trojans dropped a 9-0 decision to Inter-Valley Conference rival Strasburg on Wednesday.

Martina Triplett struck out three and walked one in a losing effort for Newcomerstown (12-9, 5-5 IVC). Kasey Gerber allowed just four hits and stuck out nine to get the win for the IVC first-place Tigers.

Amber Gibson had the lone extra-base hit for the Trojans with a double. Natalie Gause led Strasburg with a home run, three singles, and an RBI.

SUGARCREEK -- Garaway's Jess Ott cracked a two-out double to score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh as the Pirates knocked off Newcomerstown , 7-6, in Inter-Valley Conference action on Monday.

Hannah Rexroad struck out four in a losing effort for the Lady Trojans (12-8, 5-4, IVC).

Maria Koshmider finished with five strikeouts to get the win for Garaway (10-5, 7-2 IVC).

Andrea McWhorter led Newcomerstown with a home run, a double and two RBI. Jessie Rexroad added two singles and a run while Krystin Raach had two singles and two runs.

Kari Sparling led Garaway with a single, a triple, two runs and an RBI.

BERLIN -- The Generals scored in every inning as they ran away with a 10-0 win over Hiland in IVC action on Monday.

Haley Kolmerten was the wining pitcher for the Generals (10-5, 5-3 IVC) as she limited the Hawks to two hits. Sally Sharier nailed three base hits and drove in two runs. Overall, seven Ridgewood players each had an RBI.

Katelyn Hershberger took the loss for Hiland (4-10).

NAVARRE -- The Braves fell to the Falcons on Monday, 8-4, in a Principals Athletic Conference contest.

Fairless raced out to a 7-0 lead after two innings and never was seriously threatened. Jenna Allensworth cracked two double and a single for Indian Valley (4-10, 4-4 PAC) while Emily Kennedy laced three base hits.

Andrea Arney had a triple and two singles for Fairless (10-4, 4-1 PAC). Brittany Larch was the winning pitcher as she struck out nine.
