WEST LAFAYETTE -- It started out bad and got worse for the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints and that was good for the Ridgewood Generals.

The Generals again were an offensive juggernaut, rolling up 42 points in the first half on their way to an eventual 56-8 win over the Saints. And the Saints' points didn't come until the fourth quarter, when the issue had long been over.

Ridgewood's defense started the offensive show, with Hayhurst recovering a TCC fumble for six points. Bret Mitchell added the first of eight extra points and it was 7-0.

The Generals added a second touchdown in the quarter, with Kevin Davis and Jay McVay combining on a 68-yard pass play.

Then came four touchdowns in the second quarter, with Lingo scoring on runs of one yard and five yards, Nick Bellick scoring on a 15-yard run and Lenard Davidson punching it over from the six. Bellick added a second touchdown in the second half on a five-yard run and kicker Mitchell ended the Generals' scoring with a one-yard run for six points.

The win left Ridgewood undefeated at 4-0 and dropped TCC to 2-2. It was the first Inter-Valley Conference game for each school.
