JOHNSTOWN -- Taylor Ross connected on a 25-yard shot with 3:36 remaining to lift Johnstown-Monroe over Ridgewood 1-0.
Scoring opportunities were scarce in the first half for both teams.
The Lady Johnnies finished the match holding a 10 to 5 advantage in shots.
"We could tell early on that the match was going to be decided by one goal," said coach Casey Claxon. "Give Johnstown a lot of credit. They scored on a great shot."
Amanda Bible had 7 saves for the Lady Generals (3-2-3). Taylor Thomas had 4 for Johnstown.
Ridgewood falls to Edison 3-0
BERGHOLZ -- The Ridgewood girls soccer team suffered their first loss of the season falling to Richmond Edison 3-0.
The Wildcats (7-2-1) held a 1-0 lead at halftime following a goal from Nhung Tran with 21:11 to play in the first half.
Edison added two more in the second half on goals from Jordan Byrley and Carissa Myler with 30:51 and 24:19, respectively.
"Our girls played well today against a strong opponent," said coach Casey Claxon. "Games like this help us prepare for the post season. Edison will likely be one of the top two seeds in our sectional tournament at Steubenville."
Edison held a 15-6 advantage in shots.
Amanda Bible collected 9 saves in goal for Ridgewood (3-1-3) while Jen Sheets gathered 3.
The Ridgewood JV's played Edison to a 0-0 tie.
