GNADENHUTTEIN -- The Indian Valley boys and girls teams scored wins in a dual meet with Tuslaw on Wednesday.
In the boy's 83-54 win, double winners for the Braves included Logan Gray in the 100 hurdles (17.2) and 300 hurdles (43.4) and Kyle Johnson in the 100 (11.7) and 200 (23.23). Individual winners included Cole Craddoc in the high jump (6-2), Johnson in the long jump (19-3), Dominic Bell in the pole vault (14-4), and Ryan Simmers in the 400 (53.8). Relay team wins included the 3,200(9:06), 1,600 (3:31), 800 (1:35), and 400 (45.1).
In the girl's 78-58 win, double winners for the Lady Braves included Paige Saho in the 800 (2:09) and long jump (14-3) and Courtney Oliver in the 1600 (5:55) and 3200 (13:06). Other individual winners were Cierra Doanne in the shot put (32-7), Emily Baker in the 100 hurdles (17.7), Devin Bell in the pole vault (8-0), and Courtney Emler in the 200 (28.29). Relay team wins included the 3,200 (10:35), 400 (57.2), and 1600 (4:25).
Ridgewood boys take fifth at Granville Invite
GRANVILLE -- The Ridgewood boy's track team took fifth place at the Granville Invite last Saturday while the Lady Generals finished in 16th place.
Ryan Cunningham came through with a first in the 800 (2:08) while the 400 relay team of Nick Bellik, Mark Border, Jay McVay and Jarod Conrad broke the finish line first with a time of 45.16.
Other to place for the Generals were Conrad, who was runner-up in the 300 and 110 hurdles while Luke Felder came in fifth in both the 3200 and 1600. Don Mullet was third in the shot put while Chris Saylor was fifth in the pole vault.
Relay teams to place for Ridgewood included the 1600 (fourth), 800 (fifth), and 3200 (sixth).
For the Lady Generals, Meghan Cunningham was third in the pole vault while Maddy Jones came in eighth in the high jump.
West Holmes Invitational
MILLERSBURG -- The Indian Valley boy's team was second at the West Holmes Invitational last Saturday while the Lady Braves were ninth. Carrollton won the boy's event with 88 points to 85 for the Braves while West Holmes scored 77 to take the girl's meet. The Lady Braves scored 41.
For the Indian Valley boys, claiming first in the 800 relay with a time of 1:33.59 was Ryan Simmers, Taylor Gray, Kyle Johnson and Sean McKean. The 400 relay team of Simmers, Gray, Matt Allensworth and McKean was second in 45.96. Individual placers included Kyle Johnson in the 100 (2nd - 11.62), 200 (3rd - 23.32), and long jump (3rd - 19-1); Simmers in the 400 (2nd - 52.55), Cole Craddoc in the high jump (3rd - 5-8); and Dominic Bell in the pole vault (2nd - 12-6).
For the Lady Braves, the 400 relay team of Maddy Azzardi, Devin Bell, Emily Baker, Karissa Kidd was second in 56.72 while the 3200 relay team of Paige Saho, Miranda Gowins, Karissa Kidd, Courtney Oliver was third in 10:48. Individual placers include Paige Saho in the 800 (3rd - 2:34) and Courtney Oliver in the 3200 (3rd - 12:45).
