Sandy Valley 5, Ridgewood 3

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Lady Generals matched runs with the Lady Cardinals in the fourth and eighth innings but couldn't do it again in the 10th as they fell 5-3 in IVC play on Thursday.

Sandy Valley went up 1-0 in the fourth but Ridgewood quickly tied the game in the bottom of the frame. The cycle repeated in extra innings when the Lady Cardinals scored twice in the eighth and the Lady Generals followed suit. The pattern stopped in the 10th when Sandy Valley scored twice and Ridgewood couldn't match the effort.

Pitcher Taylor Zinkon was tagged with the loss while Katie Beam, who threw the last four innings, got the win.

Amy Foreman had a single and two RBI for the Lady Generals (1-10, 1-5 IVC).

Taylor Wade paced Sandy Valley (5-4, 4-2 IVC) with a double, single, and three RBI.

Indian Valley 4, Triway 2

WOOSTER -- The Lady Braves scored a 4-2 win over the Lady Titans in a Principals Athletic Conference game on Thursday.

Indian Valley (4-4, 4-2 PAC) scored two runs in the first inning and added what proved to be the game winning run in the third frame.

Morgan Miles, who was the winning pitcher, also led the offensive charge with three singles and two RBI. Rikki Ohler came through with two base hits.

Newcomerstown 14, Malvern 1

Using a 10-run offensive explosion in the fourth inning, the Lady Trojans defeated visiting Inter-Valley Conference foe Malvern on Monday, 14-1.

Cydney McMillan earned the pitching win for the Lady Trojans (6-3, 4-1 IVC), striking out four batters and walking one while surrendering just three base hits.

Taylor Ziger absorbed the loss for Malvern (6-5, 2-3 IVC).

Lexi Montgomery, Allie Hinton, and Meghann Mullane all recorded two singles each for the hosts. Hinton also had two RBI. Chelsea Fenton came through with a double while Kelsey McCune had an RBI single.

Paige Thompson led the visitors with a single and the lone run.

GNADENHUTTEN -- The Lady Braves crushed the Lady Royals on Monday in a Principals Athletic Conference game, 12-1.

Kelsey Kochman ruled the mound for Indian Valley as she gave up just two hits while striking out six. Alex Smart smashed two doubles for the Red and Blue as they racked up 16 hits in the mercy-rule shortened contest.

Strasburg 10, Ridgewood 0

STRASBURG -- The Lady Generals had no answers for the Lady Tiger's Kristen Smith as she pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts in route to a 10-0 win over Ridgewood on Monday. The mercy rule was invoked to end the game after five innings.

Strasburg (7-0, 4-0 IVC) led 2-0 in the third before racking up seven more runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Smith also had a pair of singles and three RBI while teammate Nicki Cregan connected on a double and two base hits for the winners.

Taylor Zinkon took the loss on the mound for Ridgewood (1-9, 1-4 IVC) as she gave up eight hits, walked five, and struck out one. The Lady Generals lone hit came from Jasmine Pelfrey in the third inning.
