The East defeated the West by a 7-4 count in the annual Eastern District Softball Coaches Association All-Star Game held last Sunday at Cambridge High School.

Newcomerstown's Chelsea Fenton and Ridgewood's Laura Dotson and Aimee Ott played for the West squad. Dotson cracked a double, single, and had one RBI while Fenton reached first on a base hit.

In addition to Fenton, Dotson, and Ott, the West Team included Sydney Brown (John Glenn), Sara Jones (Coshocton), Jessica Bates (Buckeye Trail), Abby Marlin (Cambridge), Molly Brady (Frontier), Summer Allen (Cambridge), Courtney Kerwood (Tri-Valley), Alivia Swiney (Philo), Kayley Bevard (Tri Valley), Alexa Abrams (Buckeye Trail), Ashley Clark (Meadowbrook) and Kristina Cosgrove (Cambridge).

The East Team consisted of Lexi Flores (New Philadelphia), Terri Lynn Wolfe (Steubenville), Lexi Sheets (Carrollton), Rachel Ossio (Indian Creek), Michelle Palicka (Bellaire), Kelli Mohr (Sandy Valley), Alex Kohm (Monroe Central), Ashley Thompson (Tusky Valley), Sarah Slenski (St. Clairsville), Kari Sparling (Garaway), Ayla Spoljar and Bethany Cera (St. John Central), , Erin White (Carrollton), and Erica Hooper (Monroe Central).

Pitchers for the West included Kerwood of Tri-Valley, Allen of Cambridge and Bates of Buckeye Trail. Pitchers for the East included Slenski of St. Clairsville, Spoljar of St. John's, Wolfe of Steubenville, Cera of St. John's and Sheets of Carrollton.
