Generals win

SUGARCREEK Ridgewood rolled over Garaway in three straight on Thursday to create a three-way tie in the Inter-Valley Conference. Final scores were 25-17, 25-20, and 25-13. The Lady Generals, Lady Pirates and Central Catholic are now each sitting at 6-1 in the league.

Kayla Tedrick ruled the court with 21 points (five aces), 12 kills, nine assists and 19 digs for Ridgewood (9-2, 6-1 IVC). Victoria Wiggins came through with 10 kills, four blocks, and 13 assists; Kelsey Miller had 10 kills and 11 blocks; and Alaynee Wright got 14 digs.

Garaway got 22 assists and 17 digs from Rachelle Putt.

The Lady Generals won the reserve game 25-16, 21-25, and 25-23.

Braves knock off Timken

CANTON Indian Valley knocked off Timken on Wednesday in PAC action, 25-11, 25-15, and 25-10.

Bailey Stull led the Lady Braves (7-6, 3-5 PAC) with 20 points and 19 assists while Ashley Reynolds scored 15 kills to go with eight digs and three blocks. Rikki Ohler came through with eight kills; Macy Giffen had 13 digs; and Maggie Kennedy scored 10 points.

Timken (2-11, 0-8 PAC) got five kills and four blocks from Kizzi Faulkner.

Indian Valley won the reserve match 25-5, 25-7.

Malvern beats Nctown

MALVERN - It was a long night for Newcomerstown, not only on the bus but in the five-game match with host Malvern, who pulled out a 15-11 win in the end to claim an IVC win on Tuesday.

The Lady Trojans won the opening set 25-19 and then dropped back-to-back decisions 25-17 and 25-23. They rebounded in the fourth set for a 25-22 win to force the fifth and deciding set.

Cydney McMillan paced Newcomerstown (2-8, 1-5 IVC) with 11 points (three aces), 22 kills, eight blocks and 19 digs. Marlayna McIntire added 11 points (three aces) and had five kills, while Alyson Rexroad had eight kills.

Alisha Moore handed out 30 assists and Meghann Mullane tallied nine points and recorded 33 digs.
