Johnstown did practically all of its damage on the ground as the team pounded out 355 yards on 52 carries. Quarterback Matt Smith led the way as he carried for 187 yards on just 17 rushes, scoring four touchdowns in the process.

Smith also went 2-for-5 in passing for 59 yards and no interceptions, giving the team 414 yards of total offense.

Ross Franklin, a 5-10, 200 pound senior, who is not only the Johnnies leading rusher but also for all of Ohio (2,407 yards and 40 touchdowns) carried for 152 yards on 30 attempts.

The Braves had a more balanced approach as the team finished with 290 yards of total offense, 141 on the ground (39 attempts) and 149 through the air.

Freshman Jake Davis picked up 109 yards on 20 carries, had three receptions for 59 yards, and scored twice. Quarterback Kyle Lehigh was 7-for-18 with no interceptions. The Braves also did not lose any fumbles. Both teams finished with 15 first downs.

The Johnnies (11-0) took a 14-0 first quarter lead on scoring runs of 50 and 19 yards by Smith.

Indian Valley (6-5) came back in the second quarter though. Davis scored on a 1-yard run and Dusty Byers returned a fumble 27 yards to close the gap to 14-13.

Franklin scored on a two-yard run before the end of the half to put Johnstown up 21-13 at halftime.

The teams traded TDs in the third quarter with the Johnnies getting a 10-yard score from Franklin and the Braves getting a five-yard scamper from Davis. Kyle Lehighs pass to Byers for the two-point conversion had Indian Valley trailing by just seven, 28-21, as the fourth quarter began.

But it was all Johnstown-Monroe in the final 12 minutes. The Mid Buckeye Conference champs insurance scores on a 6-yard run by Smith and a 2-yard run by Franklin to close out the night.
