Newcomerstown recently competed at the Dover Junior Varsity Wrestling Invitational.

Coming in first place for the Trojans in the 113 pound weight class was Zack McKibben, who went 4-0 on the day.

Other Trojans to place were David Billings (126), who was second with a 3-1 record and Jarred Weaver (138), who was third with a 3-1 record. Fourth place went to both Hunter Stringer (132), who was 3-2, and Kyle Pritchard, who finished 2-2.

Indian Valley places second

NAVARRE Indian Valley came in second place at the Fairless Invitational last Saturday. The host Falcons came in first with 140.5 points while the Braves were right behind with 128.5.

Winning first place titles for Indian Valley were Darran Warner (126) and Dominic Bell (182).

Runner-up trophies went to Brandon Swaney (113), Dakota Smith (120), Nate Wenger (132), Dalton Farrow (195) and Logan Ridgway (285).

Coming in third was Logan Ryan (145) and Brock Metzger (170) while fourth place went to Vince Sunderman (138).

Ridgewood finishes ninth in classic

COSHOCTON Despite only having eight wrestlers in the tournament, Ridgewood finished in ninth place at the 13th annual StitchCo Classic.

Canton South won the event, followed by River View and Minerva. Host Coshocton came in eighth.

For the Generals, Garrett Bethel (152) came in second place as was senior Jake Ziegler (160).

Cole Ziegler (120) earned third place by beating Coshoctons Dan Lepley 8-5; Joe Holmes (heavyweight) defeated Mariettas Keifer Johnson for fifth; and while Bill Dowd (145) took eighth place.

Coshoctons Jacob Brescianis (182) was voted outstanding wrestler of the tournament.
