On Friday night, the J.D. Milburn Relays hosted by Newcomerstown High were cut short by thunderstorms with Indian Valley coming out on top in girls' action and Cuyahoga Heights taking the boys' team title.

The Lady Braves tallied 71 points, followed by River View (64), Ridgewood (61), Tusky Valley (45), Cuyahoga Heights (45), Loudonville (33) and Newcomerstown (32).

In boys action Cuyahoga Heights totaled 65.5 points, with Indian Valley (61) in second, Tusky Valley (60), River View (48), Ridgewood (30.5), Loudonville (30) and Newcomerstown (14).

The Lady Braves took first place finishes in the sprint medley relay (D. Ebll, E. Baker, C. Emler, P Saho/1:57.46); 3200 relay (C. Oliver, C. Emler, C. Kenney, P. Saho/10:36); shuttle hurdle relay (E. Baker, A. Jenkins, S. Biddle, C. Emler/1:12.03); 6400 relay (P. Saho, C. Oliver, C. Kenney, E. Probert/24:16.0) and the shot put (K. Shamel, A. Reynolds, K. Saho/91-6.5).

Ridgewood picked up a trio of wins in girls action, taking the high jump (Maddy Jones, Victoria Wiggins, Alaynee Wright/13-8); long jump (Wright, Kayla Tedrick, Stormie Curry)/42-4.5) and pole vault (Kira Smalley, Joy Heller, Meghan Cunningham/24-6).

Newcomerstown's lone top finish in the girls' division came in the discus (Krista McVey, Jocelynn Lenhoff, Cydney McMillan/256-7).

Local winners in boys' action for Ridgewood were in the shot put (Joe Holmes, Evan Jones, Blake Feldner/123-25) and discus (Holmes, Jared Lindig, Jones/390-1), while Indian Valley came out on top in the high jump (Cole Craddock, Chris Martin, Florian Kalies/17-2), 400 relay (Ryan Simmers, Taylor Gray, Craddock, Kyle Johnson/44.40) and shuttle hurdle relay (Gray, Simmers, Quinn Dickey, Johnson/1:05.68).

GNADENHUTTEN -- The Indian Valley girls' track squad split a triangular defeating Ridgewood, 84-52, and dropping a narrow 69-67 decision to Tuslaw.

The Indian Valley boys fell to Tuslaw by a 72-68 score.

Claiming individual firsts for the Lady Braves were Emily Baker in the 100-meter hurdles (17.73), Ashley Reynolds in the shot put (33-3) and Courtney Emler in the 300-meter hurdles (51.34).

The Indian Valley girls also won the 800-meter relay(1:55.4) and the 1600-meter relay (4:26.3).

Individual winners for the Lady General of Ridgewood were Kayla Tedrick in the long jump (14-6.5); Meghan Cunningham in the pole vault (10-9) and the 400-meter relay(55.3).

In the boys' events, Kyle Johnson was a double-winner for the Braves claiming the 100-meter (11.21) and the 200-meter (23.37). Other individual winners were Florian Kalies in the high jump (6-0), Taylor Gray in the 100-meter hurdles (16.5), Ryan Simmers in the 400-meter (52.25); Dominic Bell in the pole vault (14-0); the 800-meter relay (1:55.4) and the 1600-meter relay (3:33.1).
