DOVER -- Rainy weather conditions on Saturday forced the Dover Invitational into a 9-hole event instead of the scheduled 18-hole format at the event held at Oak Shadows Golf Course.

Zanesville took the team title with 159, followed by St. Clairsville (163), host Dover (163), Uniontown Lake (164) and Coshocton (164). Indian Valley placed ninth in the 16-team field with a 167-stroke total.

Jon Mason of Garaway finished as medalist for the day with a round of 35, while Cambridge's Trevor Wilkinson was runner-up with 36.

Mitchell Lehigh was the low man for Indian Valley with a 37. Shawn Miller checked in a 39; Bret Penick carded a 42; Jordan Hartzler shot 49 and Brett Rentsch had a 50.

UHRICHSVILLE -- Meadowbrook High dodged the rain and claimed the win in a triangular golf match at Big Bend Golf Course on Tuesday. The Colts recorded a team score of 154 followed by Indian Valley at 158 and Claymont at 170

Shawn Mills led Indian Valley (18-5) and was co-medalist along with Meadowbrook's Nate Frencik with a 36. Mitchell Lehigh followed with a 37, while Bret Tenick added a 42 and Brett Reutsch a 43

SUGARCREEK -- Indian Valley High sophomore Mitchell Lehigh scorched the par-36 front nine at Willandale Golf Course in a Wednesday non-league golf match against host Strasburg.

Despite a double bogey, Lehigh fired a 3-under par 33. His score not only captured medalist honors, it is among the lowest nine-hole scores reported this season.

His effort paced the Braves to a 162-173 win. Indian Valley also got strong efforts from Bret Penick, who carded a 40; Shawn Mills, who shot a 43 and Jamey McAdams, who fired a 46.

Strasburg was led by Austin Eckhart, who posted a 40.

Indian Valley is not scheduled to play again until next week.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood and Newcomerstown hooked up for a dual match in high school golf on Wednesday at Hickory Flats Golf Club and on the strength of a medalist effort of Tyler Davis, who fired a 39 on the par-36 back nine, the Generals cruised to an easy 169-226 Inter-Valley Conference triumph.

Supplementing the Ridgewood (1-2 IVC) scoring were Howie Young (42), Nathan Hoffman (43) and Nick Blakeley (45).

Newcomerstown's (0-5 IVC) best effort was turned in by Jared Brooks, who carded a 44. The remainder of the Trojan scores were Zach Gibson (48), Lincoln Shaw (58), Codi Rothacher (76).

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Visiting Tri-Valley scored a 205-224 win over Ridgewood on Wednesday in a girls' golf dual match at River Greens Golf Course.

Tri-Valley got a 42 from medalist Alex Weingarth as their best score.

Ridgewood (2-22 overall record, 2-9 in duals) was paced by Paige Lane's 44. Teammate Samantha Wilson added a 47 while Kaitlyn Finton and Amanda Matchett added 66 and 67, respectively.

SUGARCREEK -- Host Hiland rolled to a 176-231 Inter-Valley Conference golf victory over Newcomerstown at Willandale Golf Course on Thursday.

Zach Gibson paced Newcomerstown (1-9, 0-6 IVC) individual scorers shooting a 47 with Jared Brooks close behind with a 48. Rounding out the top four scorers were Lincoln Shaw with a 63 and Codi Rothacher at 73.

Hiland (2-3 IVC) was led by match medalist Adam Grate, who carded a 42. He was followed by Tyler Grate with a 44, while Mark Schlabach and Drew Kline each fired a 45.

SUGARCREEK -- Strasburg High posted a 181-22 win over the visiting Ridgewood Lady Generals in girls' Inter-Valley Conference golf action Thursday at Willandale Golf Course.

Paige Lane paced the Lady Generals (2-24 overalls, 2-11 duals, 1-1 IVC) carding a 44 and was followed by Samantha Wilson with a 50, Amanda Matchett in at 56 and Kaitlyn Finton shooting a 72.

Strasburg was led by match medalist Karly DiBacco who fired a 42. She was followed closely by Mikayla Johnson with a 43, while Diedra Saurenheimer and Alyssa Wolfer rounded out the team scoring each shooting a 48.
