STRASBURG -- A season long problem continued for the Newcomerstown High Lady Trojans on Monday in dropping a 23-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-18 setback to host Strasburg High in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action.

"We continue to struggle with service errors," Newcomerstown coach John Dupke said. "Tonight we had 17 and it just continues to be a real problem for us. We just have to take better care of the ball, I keep stressing it to the girls and we have to fix the problem."

Senior Cydney McMillan led the Lady Trojans (2-5, 0-4 IVC) with 13 points (8 aces), 19 kills and 16 digs in a stellar performance. Kara Jenkins added five kills, Aeriel Green with 20 digs and freshman Karlee Peach added 13 assists.

GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley High rolled to a 25-12, 25-13, 25-16 victory over Manchester High in PAC-7 volleyball action on Tuesday.

Ashley Reynolds led the Lady Braves (6-3, 3-2 PAC-7) with nine points, nine digs, 14 kills and four blocks.Sydney Kandray added 13 assists and 10 digs; Devin Bell contributed 10 points and Danara Lamonica finished with eight kills for the winners.

WEST LAFAYETTE --Ridgewood High defeated Hiland, 25-11, 25-10, 25-8 in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action on Tuesday.

Stat leaders for the Lady Generals (6-1, 3-1 IVC) were Laura Crawford has with five points, seven kills, four blocks and eight assists; Kelsey Miller with 18 points (five aces) and three blocks; and Laura Frazee with seven kills and three points; Erika Michael with 15 points (three aces) and eight digs; Victoria Wiggins with nine points, 18 assists, eight digs and four kills; Amanda Lowery with three kills and three blocks; Abbey Youngen with 10 digs; and Allie Dobson with three kills.

The RHS junior varisty team lost, 25-23, 25-15. Courtney Toliver had five points for the Lady Generals.

NAVARRE -- Indian Valley High posted a thrilling come-from-behind road PAC win on Thursday by edging host Fairless by scores of 15-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-20 and 16-14.

The triumph was keyed by the offense of sophomore Ashley Reynolds, who pounded a season-high 30 kills to pace the Lady Braves (7-3, 4-2 PAC). She also recorded six blocks and 10 digs. Setter Bailey Stull recorded 21 assists. Hitter Danera Lamonica helped with nine kills. Stephanie Risher and Devin Bell served five aces and four aces, respectively.

The IV jayvee team dropped a 25-20, 25-12 decision, but the freshmen prevailed by scores of 26-28, 25-18, 25-22.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High claimed a three-set sweep over rival Newcomerstown in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action Thursday by scores of 25-9, 25-20 and 25-8.

The Lady Generals improved to 7-1 on the year and 4-1 in IVC play. Abbey Youngen had 17 points and six digs; Victoria Wiggin added seven points, four kills, 15 assists and five digs; Kelsey Miller chipped in 10 points, 10 kills, two blocks and two digs; Laura Frazee added eight points with five kills and two blocks; Amanda Lowery tacked on four kills and two blocks; and Morgan McDorman recorded seven digs.

For the Lady Trojans (2-6, 0-5 IVC) Cydney McMillan led the way with four points, three aces, 12 kills, two blocks and 10 digs.

Alicia Moore handed out nine assists and Karlee Peach dished out seven assists.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Neighboring Indian Valley (8-3) came calling and posted a 25-9, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of host Newcomerstown High on Saturday.

Lady Brave Ashley Reynolds continued her solid net play with 16 kills and also added a dozen digs. Indian Valley setters Bailey Stull and Sydneyt Kandray combined for two dozen assists. Kelsey Swaney chipped in with six kills and Maggie Kennedy led the IV defense with 13 digs.

Newcomerstown (2-7) received eight kills and a match high total of 17 digs from Cydney McMillan. Fellow defender Alyson Rexroad had 14 digs. Setters Alicia Moore and Karlee Peach combined for 19 assists.

Marlayna McIntyre chipped in with four kills.

GRANVILLE -- Ridgewood finished in third place in the Granville Volleyball Tournament on Saturday with a 2-1 record.

The Lady Generals lost to New Albany by scores of 26-24, 20-25 and 23-25 with Morgan McDorman scoring eight points, while Erika Michael, Victoria Wiggins and Kelsey Miller added seven points each, while Abbey Youngen chipped in with six points.

In the second outing, Ridgewood defeated Highland 25-15 and 25-16 with McDorman scoring nine points, Miller seven and Wiggins five.

In its final match, Ridgewood (9-2) defeated host Granville by scores of 25-21 and 25-14 with Erika Michael leading the way with 11 points with McDorman adding six and Miller five.

"With an injury to Laura Crawford we have to move players around into different positions," Ridgewood coach Dan Smith said. "I was very proud of the girls today. They did a nice job of adjusting and played well as a team. Michael and McDorman stepped into new roles today. Michael's serving was strong and she really did a nice job of filling in as a setter."

In the Junior Varsity pare of the tournament, Ridgewood (4-7) also finished 2-1 for a third place finish. The young Lady Generals lost to New Albany 25-22 and 25-12, then defeated Highland 25-20 and 25-22 and Granville by scores of 25-23, 14-25 and 25-23.
