NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Visiting Hiland rolled to a 12-0 victory over Newcomerstown High in Inter-Valley Conference baseball action on Tuesday.
Jordan Yoder hurled the complete game shutout for the Hawks, while Cole Hinton took the loss on the mound for NHS with five innings of work.
Kyle Troyer racked up three singles to pace Hiland, while Jordan Yoder belted a home run and singled.
Newcomerstown (0-20, 0-9 IVC) was led by Tyler Wheeler with a single.
SARAHSVILLE -- Host Shenandoah jumped in front early and cruised to a 11-1 five-inning victory over struggling Newcomerstown High in a non-league encounter on Wednesday.
The Zeps tacked on two runs in the first frame and then added a big six spot in the second for a commanding 8-0 lead after just two innings.
Kaleb Thompson picked up the pitching win for Shenandoah, finishing with two strikeouts and two walks and allowing just two hits. Newcomerstown's Jeff Baumgardner took the loss in his first varsity start, with one strikeout and two walks.
Thompson also led the way at the plate for the Zeps with a double, two singles and three RBIs, while C.J. Danford chipped in with two singles and two RBIs.
The Trojans were held to just singles from Josh Green and Jordan Wharff.
SUGARCREEK -- Ridgewood High picked up a key Inter-Valley Conference win on Wednesday, taking an 8-6 decision over host Garaway.
With the victory, the Generals improve to 7-1 in the IVC and 10-8 overall, while the Pirates slip to 10-8 and 6-4 in IVC play.
Senior Zak Keesee tossed a complete game for RHS to collect the win, with five strikeouts and two walks. Corey Yoder was saddled with the loss on the mound, with two Ks and two walks.
C.J. Grove and Ryan Lowe led the Generals' attack with a double and single each, while Seth Bergeron added a pair of basehits.
Garaway's Clay Honigford was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and three singles, while Colin Gerber and Chance Miller each finished with two singles.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Andrew Cugliari tossed a four-hit shutout to pace visiting Tuscarawas Central Catholic to a 6-0 Inter-Valley Conference win over winless Newcomerstown on Thursday.
Cugliari went the distance striking out two and walking none. Joseph Crank was saddled with the pitching loss going the distance and fanning one, while giving up four free passes.
TCC (15-3, 8-1 IVC) collected seven hits, led by Michael Lawless and Gage Miller with two singles each, while Matt Fondriest added a double.
Cole Hinton accounted for two of the Newcomerstown (0-21, 0-9 IVC) with a pair of singles.

GNADENHUTTEN -- For the second consecutive night, the Fairless Falcons knocked off the Principal's Athletic Conference 7 first-place Indian Valley Braves behind a five-hit shutout pitching performance from AJ Williams. The second win in as many nights moved the Falcons within a single game of the conference leading Braves.
While Williams was baffling the Indian Valley offense, Fairless (8-9, 6-3 PAC 7) plated a run the second inning then added a pair of runs in the fifth and seventh frames to escape with the 5-0 win. The two runs in the fifth inning came off a two RBI double off the bat of Cody Sword and then Jake Cole provided a two-RBI double in the seventh. Cole finished the evening with three hits and Sword added a pair of hits as the Falcons offense collected 11 hits.
Brandon Fox suffered the mound loss for Indian Valley (12-8, 6-2 PAC 7) striking out seven and walking one. Garron Fawcett had the only extra base hit for the Braves, a double, while the other four hits were all singles.

NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Newcomerstown High finally broke through on the win column Friday with an 8-6 win over host Tuscarawas Central Catholic in an Inter-Valley Conference match-up.
A five-run second inning helped to lift the Trojans (1-21, 1-9 IVC to the victory.
Jacob Rine hurled a complete game for NHS with 12 strikeouts and nine walks. Scotty Kreiger took the loss for TCC (15-4, 8-2 IVC), with two Ks and one walk.
The Trojans collected 13 hits, with Nash Kissel leading the way with a double, single and two RBI. Jared Brooks, Josh Green and Derek Crank each added a pair of base hits, with Jordan Wharff, Tyler Wheeler and Joseph Crank each contributing RBI singles.
Alex Lawless slugged a three-run home run and tripled to pace the Saints, with Michael Lawless adding a pair of singles.
